Skills Development

Because we are dedicated to helping students develop maximum personal potential, we are committed to assisting them in achieving the highest level of skills development possible for each individual client. This means creating highly customized training programs for each client.

Self-care skills are important, not only to our students but also to our their caregivers. Acquiring improved self-care skills allows our students a greater sense of dignity and confidence.

Communication skills and their mastery are critical to each student. Improved communication skills give students more satisfying and rewarding interpersonal interactions.

Mobility skills provide our students with a greater degree of physical freedom and higher confidence in their own abilities to navigate within their boundaries.

Domestic skills give our students the opportunity to participate in domestic life activities such as cooking, laundry and house cleaning, allowing our students an added measure of independence.

Fine and gross motor skills development is a continuing challenge that each of our students face. Improving their fine and gross motor skills gives our students greater levels of mastery in all other areas of personal skill development.

Vocational skills enable developmentally disabled individuals to learn the work and life skills requisite for community employment. Rehabilitation counseling, job skills training, and subcontract work give students an opportunity to practice their skills in authentic job settings.
